Reproduction firearms are, as the name implies, look-alike versions of actual weapons and are exempt from normal licensing and shipping requirements. While many are quite true to detail, they may not be suitable for close-up photographic purposes. They do possess the same functionality of real theatrical weapons, and are constructed of plastic or die-cast metal parts. While eminently suitable for “holster stuffers” and background use they will not fire blanks or chamber dummy ammunition, and require careful handling, given their less-than-robust materials.
